The winning bid in this year's Light the Night auction is Lisa, the owner of a cat named Fiona. It'll be an 11"x14" portrait of Fi Fi wearing cowgirl boots and a water-inspired tiara.... :)

This is quickly becoming the most intricate pet portrait I've worked on, to date. It's not the most difficult in terms of patterns, but the sheer amount of "stuff" to be included is a bit much for an 11x14 canvas. I had to rearrange things a bit to make sense of it. Soon I'll post my "proof" drawing. I think the clients are going to be quite thrilled with the "proof", so I expect to start actually painting pretty soon, like within the next few days. :)

My sister got me involved in another silent auction, this time for Lilght the Night, a charity event that raises money for leukemia and lymphoma research. Another 11x14in portrait, this time the winning bid was $85 (only $15 off my regualar price for this canvas size), and soon Josh (owner of female cat named Wade) will have a painting portraying Wade as a pirate. I sure hope Natamon doesn't mind too much I'll be looking at her work for inspiration.... What will I title it? Perhaps "Too Deep Now for Wading"? LOL
